Follow The Clues
Anyone can take a look around a home and create a report, but not everyone will look thoroughly beneath the surface of your home and investigate the many issues that may affect the safety and value of your investment. We handle it all: roofs, crawlspaces, attics and we look for the hidden signs of problems you may not know about. We believe in up-close inspections and will provide the data to back-up our findings. This is the ONLY way for the customer to know what is happening with their homes. We check for defects within the big items like substrate plywood and the structural foundation along with the smaller details like flashing, plumbing boots and chimney brickwork for cracks that may weep water into the structure. We look for defects that you can’t see with the naked eye. Often, we will discover moisture issues by using our thermal imaging devices. This technology will show us if there is a problem. ACE Basin Home Inspections will work hard for you to make sure your investment is a wise one.

What to Watch For
When we perform a home inspection, we are looking for any problem, large or small, that may decrease the value of the property or be a safety hazard that should be repaired or replaced. During storms, heaving rains and winds pound our homes and can cause unseen damage. As seasons change, freezing cold or soaring heat causes our home to expand and contract., which can cause hairline cracks in the foundation or in the walls. These all contribute to defects. Finding a small problem now will prevent a costly headache later.
Brick homes are one of our specialties. If you see cracks in your brick siding, there is already an issue with the foundation.
Particularly in the South, concrete foundations are subject to stress cracks. Usually these are not a concern; however, when cracks expand, they become fractures which lead to major structural damage. Understanding what is happening to your home is key to knowing how to maintain it and prevent future damage.
